May 11 - June 22, 2024 - Kindness Day Spring Cinema

In spring 2024, Kindness Day Hotel collaborated with the South Taiwan Film Festival, both local to Tainan, to bring visual imagery and diverse themes to the Kindness Day Hotel.
Six films will be screened, followed by post-screening discussions! The aim is to create more encounters and connections between travelers and residents, weaving memories of a city and a journey through film.

The viewing space will be relocated to the roller skating rink on Minsheng Road next to Kindness Day Hotel. Enjoy the outdoor movie nights created by Kindness Day Hotel with family and friends, adding different little vignettes to your journey!

" Zombie film with grandpas & grandmas"
The most absurd and heartwarming family mission! This is a comedy documentary that tells the story of discovering and accompanying dementia. The director seeks to stimulate Grandma's memory through drama, and in a wild idea, mobilizes the community to help Grandma shoot a B-grade movie where King Kong battles zombies.

" Eating Grapes without Spitting out the Skin"
Ah-zhong wakes up to find himself dead. He watches his wife and children deal with his affairs after his death, and the family chattering away while Ah-zhong incessantly talks beside them. But whether alive or dead, nobody listens to what he says! He can only entrust one person to fulfill his final wish.

" Can You Hear Me ?"
Wei-wei dreams of becoming a voice actor but faces repeated setbacks. She unexpectedly discovers that her deceased father was actually a creditor! For her dream, dignity, and her elderly mother who depends on her, Wei-wei transforms into a tough debt collector.

Xiao-chun is about to celebrate her eighteenth birthday and leave home for school, her eyes shimmering with anticipation for the future. But on this night, she discovers a secret. The scenery remains the same, as do the people, but all that remains in her eyes is confusion.

" Daddy-To-Be?"
Ah-jun, originally looking forward to leisurely days before enlistment, finds himself in a series of embarrassing situations after his girlfriend Xiao-an's pregnancy test shows two lines. Ah-jun, who lost his father at a young age, feels completely at a loss facing this sudden ‘fatherhood’ role.

"Kamome Diner"
Japanese woman Sachie relocates to Helsinki, Finland, and opens a Japanese-style diner. Despite attracting many passersby, no one ever comes in to dine. By chance, she meets Midori and Masako, who join as members of the diner. In the Kamome Diner, an incredible journey unfolds.
